What Caretakers And Parents Are Saying
“This app is awesome!! It has helped my nonverbal son (4 years old) immensely! His receptive language has increased greatly since purchasing Autismate and he is beginning to say words.
Thank you Autismate for creating this app. You’ve changed our lives. Please do not hesitate to buy this app. You will not regret it!”
“Great App! I am a mother of a seven year old son who has autism. He becomes very upset going to new places or just from not realizing where we are going. With this app I can let him see step by step where we are going and what we will be doing. I recently used it for helping him to understand what would be happening at a hospital visit to have tubes put in his ears (a procedure he had done before and had gotten very upset). This last visit he was calmer and cooperated really well! I highly recommend this app! It is an app I use constantly and is very easy to use. Thank you so much for providing a tool that gives me a way to help my sweet, loving son find understanding by allowing him to “think in pictures”.

"One of the key strategies in working with those with autism is to get into their world to create the opportunity for them to initiate language, one of the most important milestones in language acquisition."

“AutisMate is an incredible app, allowing children with Autism to communicate by tacting (labeling) items and manding (requesting) for their wants and needs. From my experience it is the most effective app in improving communication, academics and social skills for children with Autism. My students can open the door to a refrigerator and make a request for an item all with the touch of a finger.”

“AutisMate is a unique app in that they incorporate teaching strategies that have been empirically demonstrated to be effective with children with autism. In particular, the incorporation of video modeling that can be customized to the child’s environment is a feature that will be valuable to parents and educators who are working to increase a student’s daily living skills, play repertoires or functional independence with a variety of routines. Children with autism often lack many of these repertoires, and video modeling is a teaching methodology that has been empirically demonstrated to be effective in producing rapid acquisition of such skills. The scene-based approach within the communication components of the app provide a unique way for users to make requests that is unique from most other augmentative communication apps on the market right now. For many students, most communication apps require some level of understanding of categories, whereas the scene-based approach of AutisMate provides object-picture association that many students form around common objects within their homes, schools, and other familiar settings.”

“I am a speech-language pathologist and founder of a private practice in the Washington, DC area. My area of expertise is using technology to empower children and adults with a wide variety of communication, cognitive, literacy and learning challenges- including individuals with autism spectrum disorders. When preparing to teach a class on augmentative and alternative communication technologies- I came across AutisMate. I was immediately very impressed and excited about the potential for this app. It is very innovative and different from other apps on the market. There are now over 200 AAC apps. This one is different from all of the rest. Although I feel there are still some changes that will improve the usability of the app, with a bit of creativity and the implementation of good communication strategies, it can be a game changer for many individuals with complex communication needs.
I give this app 5 stars!”
